This is the name the Spanish called a small island in between Negros and Mindanao because at night, the island used to appear as if it was on fire. That was actually the effect of fireflies that were plentiful during those times.Today, it's known as Siquijor. I grew up here (i didn't actually "grew" that much, though). Although i was not born here, i consider the island my home.
I'm from Larena, the first capital of Siquijor before it was transferred to its current capital. My Grandpa used to be the governor of the province. He actually was the one who spearheaded the drive to make the island a province. Beat that....
I had almost all my firsts here. Well, almost.... Most of my childhood friends are still here, some have chosen to live elsewhere. But they still come back from time to time to experience the island life they surely missed. See you in 2 years, guys...
Before this becomes a diary of sort... i have to find a way to end this entry..............
